Top Mistake #4: No bleed.
Bleed is an extension or overflow of your artwork past the cut lines. Using bleed ensures that your text and images do not get chopped off when the paper is cut down to size. All printed parts such as CD booklet inlays, traycard and digipaks must have 3mm bleed around all the edges. You should also place your text and important images a further 2 to 3mm away from the bleed edge. Just to be safe.

Top Mistake #5: Incorrect pagination of booklets
This can often happen with novice designers. It is crucial that printers' pairs are used when setting up booklet artwork. It does get more confusing the bigger the booklet is but ask us (or your supplier) for guidelines. The artwork will only be returned and this will cause delays.

Top Mistake #6: Using someone else's templates.
There are a lot of free templates available on the web. But only use your manufacturer's templates when preparing your artwork. There may only be small differences on some products but your artwork will certainly be returned for revisions if you don't follow the right instructions.
